Wilder Ranch Sign Painted On Fence

Wilder Ranch, is located just North of the city of Santa Cruz and encompasses more than 7000 acres along the Central Coast of California. With more than 34 miles of trails for hiking, biking and horse back riding, it is a park that offers something for everyone. Wilder has some of the most incredible views of the Monterey Bay available anywhere, with rolling hills, incredible grasslands and pockets of redwoods, firs, pines and oaks. Di and I consider Wilder Ranch one of the finest coastal State parks and one not to be missed.

Walking the Walk

We will be taking to the hills above Highway 1 through grasslands, rolling hills and a variety of forest habitat. At least half of the hike will be without shade so layers, hats and sunscreen are highly recommended. Although the elevation change is only 400 feet, there are a few steep sections, but none of them are very long.

Due to trail preference we have chosen to change our original hike from what is listed on the flyer. This will enable us to experience one of the finest views available in the park for our meeting.
