Big Basin is a gorgeous park full of Redwoods, wild flowers, with three waterfalls. This is an adventure not to miss.

We will be taking the Skyline to the Sea Trail from Big Basin Park to Waddell Creek Beach. We will loop through Berry Falls, and see some marvelous Redwood and Ocean Vistas.

Directions:

Take 17 South towards Santa Cruz; Merge right for Hwy 1 North towards Half Moon Bay/Boulder Creek; Keep following Hwy 1 through first light, at second light take a left turn; Turn right on Front Street (Front street has a parking garage on Front st/Soquel Ave one block before Cathcart St); Turn right on Cathcart St, Turn Left on Pacific Ave, the Santa Cruz Metro Transit Center will be on your left. We will meet at the 35 Bus Stop at 815am. We will be taking the 35 Bus to Big Basin. It leaves by 830am sharp. Do not be late as the bus will wait for no one. We will be at Big Basin by 945am, and start our hike then. We will return on the bus 40, from Waddell Creek Beach. It leaves from Waddell Creek at 5:15pm, and arrives at the Santa Cruz Metro Transit Center at 530pm.

Drive Time: 45 minutes driving, 1.25 hour bus ride Parking: $5 Dogs Allowed: No
You need to be confident you can hike 12 miles in 4 hours or less. The first 4 miles are uphill, the remaining 8 are a gentle downhill grade.
Bring EXACT Cash for the bus, cash or credit/debit card for parking. Be on time, the bus will not wait.
Bathrooms are located at Park Headquarters and Wadell Beach
