Mt Madonna is a 3,688-acre park within the Santa Clara County park system. It is located along the ridgeline, north of Highway 152, that separates Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties. The park is a diverse mix of redwood, fir, oak and madrone. With over 20 miles of trails, it is an excellent place for a hike and a meeting.

Walking the Walk

We will be taking a series of trails from the Sprig Lake recreation area at the base of the Mt Madonna up to the top and back down. We will start on the Merry Go Round trail to the Miller House ruins where we will have our meeting. From there we will head over to the Rock Springs trail to connect to the Sprig trail and back down the mountain to our cars.

Directions

Take US-101 South until you reach the Leavesley Rd/CA-152W exit toward Gilroy. Turn right onto CA-152W/Leavesley Rd and go half a mile. Turn left onto Monterey Street and drive .4 mile. Turn right onto 1st Street and continue onto CA152W/Hecker Pass Rd. Continue 4.9 miles and turn right into Sprig Lake parking area.
