Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area is a 266-acre park that includes an 80-acre lake with trails.

The Hike

The park is a favorite for people hiking, walking their dogs, trail runners, fishing, and bird watching. The elevation gain is gentle. The trails are both exposed and shaded. Bring a hat, sunscreen &/or umbrella to protect yourself from the sun. The meeting spot has yet to be determined.

Directions From San Jose: Take 680 N, Left at First Street, which turns into Stanley Blvd, Right onto Shadow Cliffs, park at the back of the lot or better yet, type in the below address on your favorite map.

Drive Time: 35 – 45 minutes

Know Before you go

The parking is $6. Dogs allowed on a leash $2. There are lots of nice (flush toilet) bathroom, but only on the last mile of the hike. Bring at least 2 liters of water.

After you pay at the Kiosk, go right at the stop sign, and park at the far parking lot all the way up to top of the lot. We’ll meet at the Interpretive Pavilion.
